Team

The myLanguage team is passionate about languages and determined to make the best language translation and learning applications in the world. We work smart and play hard. Meet our team and come join us.

Andrew Lauder – Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer

  • Andrew was traveling in Greece where he saw people from different parts of Europe struggling to communicate with the locals. Mixed together, the voices sounded like noise, and yet were strangely melodic to him. “Wouldn’t it be great if I could understand what they are saying!” The final inspiration came when he saw the movie, “The Linguists”. He knew right away what he had to do – start myLanguage!
  • Andrew founded myLanguage and designs and writes all the myLanguage applications with his team.

Damien Dalli – Co-Founder, Art Director, Chief Designer

  • When Andrew approached Damien about myLanguage, he was intrigued. Not being a multi-linguist, Damien could immediately see how great and beneficial myLanguage could be to anyone needing translations or trying to learn a new language.
  • Damien has always been interested in how people communicate and felt myLanguage would allow him to express his passion – Graphic Design – and let him do what he loves — creating aesthetically pleasing and functional visuals.
  • A workaholic of sorts, he can usually be seen in front of the computer or with his iPhone in hand, but occasionally can be found: Snowboarding, Wakeboarding, Wakesurfing, Taking Photos, Playing Tennis, and Practicing Martial Arts.

Naresh Parshotam - Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer

  • Naresh is the old pro on our team, having started and been a part of numerous successful startups over the last 20 years.
  • Naresh speaks 7 languages fluently and fakes about 2-3 more. A world traveler, he’s passionate about learning languages and different cultures. He is particularly concerned that his mother language, Sindhi, will join the ranks of extinct languages and is determined to do what he can to preserve it and make it easier to learn.
  • Naresh keeps the team on track and focused, while making sure everyone is working smart and playing hard.
  • An ardent Liverpool fan, most of his weekends are spent watching them play or watching his sons play soccer. When he’s not at his desk, he’s most likely at a pub watching soccer or at the gym training. No one knows why he trains – but he does.
